Eric D. Brophy, Diegnan & Brophy, LLC, is resident partner in our Wall Township, NJ office and concentrates his practice in general business litigation, general business counseling, community association law, construction litigation, consumer fraud claims, collections, and municipal law.

Mr. Brophy is admitted to practice in the federal and State Courts of New Jersey; the State Courts of New York; the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York; United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York; and the Bankruptcy Courts of the District of New Jersey, Southern District of New York and Eastern District of New York. In June 2011, Mr. Brophy was admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Brophy has lectured before the National Business Institute. Mr. Brophy has written and lectured on various issues relating to complex commercial litigation and developments in condominium law. Mr. Brophy is a member of the New Jersey Bar Association’s Construction Law and Business Law Sections. He is also a member of the Community Association Institute.

Mr. Brophy previously served as the Municipal Prosecutor in Wall Township, New Jersey; Monmouth County Special Counsel; Public Defender in Belmar, NJ and Alternate Public Defender in Neptune, NJ. Currently, Mr. Brophy is the Municipal Prosecutor in Keyport, NJ; Municipal Prosecutor in South Toms River, NJ; Alternate Prosecutor in Brick, NJ; Alternate Prosecutor in Marlboro, NJ; Special Counsel in Keyport; Special Litigation Counsel in Brick, NJ; and Special Counsel for EMS in Neptune, NJ.

Mr. Brophy received his B.S. from the University of Scranton, and his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law. Mr. Brophy currently serves on the University of Scranton Alumni Board of Governors; currently serves on the Seton Hall Law School’s Alumni Council and is President of the Wall Township Board of Education.

In spare time, Mr. Brophy enjoys coaching little league and is a fan of the NY Yankees, NY Giants and NY Rangers.

Richard P. Diegnan, Jr. is a partner in our Morristown office.  He concentrates his practice in general corporate counseling, mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, real estate and land use planning, and commercial disputes.  Mr. Diegnan has an active probate and guardianship practice representing individuals, families and estates in probate, estate administration and guardian appointments for incapacitated persons.  Mr. Diegnan appears frequently in Morris County Superior Court, Chancery Division, Probate Part.  Throughout his career, Mr. Diegnan has worked on a variety of corporate matters and has handled transactions ranging from traditional purchase and sale of companies to asset purchases and financing transactions. Mr. Diegnan has handled commercial and residential real estate transactions, lease and sublease agreements, as well land use planning. Mr. Diegnan has also represented clients before town planning boards.  Mr. Diegnan is currently Special County Counsel for the County of Morris.
